Default RE: Engine Painting

If you paint aluminum, it defeats the purpose of it's ability to disipate heat. That's why you don't paint aluminum heads. Polish you're aluminum pieces, don't paint.

Thanks that helps me a lot. i forgot about the heat disapation. Thank you for reminding me bc i was going to paint my intake and its aluminum that would have defeated the purpose of heat disapataion. i will polish the top half of my engine bc its all aluminum. I need to find a new set of valve covers that are made of thick aluminum to cut down the noise of the 1.7 RR i have. Does anybody know of a good set of valve covers that will fit 1.7 RR and fit under my intake without a spacer?
