Default TFI Module

Well, I had noticed my car had lost alot of pep, developed a mis, and started idling real poorly(nearly stalling at times) so I did little odds and ends here and there, bumped the timing, and even though I had a brand new TFI module, I didn't put it in. The problems continued. My car went from bein able to break it loose rolling along in 1st, to only spinning the tires from a dead stop. It just always seemed held back. So tonight I took 15min and threw it on there. Instantly, I started the car, and before it would start, revv to 2k for a second, then drop to 500 and surge real bad. It did this till it warmed were the idle would change all the time. A new IAC didn't fix that. After the new TFI it started, revved to 2k for about 3sec, then settled to 900rpm. I was estatic. lol It was raining though so no test drive. Later on the roads were wet but I went out anyway. I noticed the throttle response had picked up and the car seemed much pepier. It still had the slight mis but not as bad. It also seemed a bit more torque. I can't verify this though seeing as wet roads + 235/60/R15's = slip n' slide. lol But is it possible that this little piece on my 86 bein worn out could cause all that?[/align]

if you say your still have a miss, id check the spark plug wires and rotor cap to insure they havent gone bad as well, i had a simular problem with my TFI. if you have code reader id check that as well, and make sure you clear any codes.
