Default head gasket thickness?

I'm looking to get a Cometic MLS head gasket but don't know what thickness would be best for my application.
Engine will be soon built as a 347 stroker, AFR185 heads, DART 302 block. Motor will go turbo within a year.

So what thickness would be good for me? Please help me out.

The common is .038 - .042 . You do need to figure out what the compression ratio will be/what you want. gasket thickness wil change this.

ROL makes a good .045" thick gasket.

Your piston choice and combustion chamber size will determine your compression, more than a gasket.

Assuming a 4.100" diameter gasket ring, a .039" will have 8.437 cc volume, while a .045" will have a 9.736 cc volume.

Pi x radius (half of diameter) ^ 2 x height = Y

Y x 16.39 = Volume of the headgasket.

Don't forget deck height/clearance. That will add to or subtract from head gasket thickness.
