Default h-pipe with no cats

Going to look at a 87 LX soon that has an h-pipe, but no cats. Would it be pretty easy to just put some cats on there or would I have to get a whole new exhaust. Any replies would be great. Thanks.

Yeah, you can get some universal catco cats from summit for like 60 bucks a piece and have them welded up there no problem by a good shop.

The cheapest way is to have a shop weld cats in. Or else you have to get a new mid-pipe with the cats.

I bet you can get a stock h-pipe pretty cheap since few people keep the stock exhaust on their car. I would even bet someone on here has one laying around they dont want. Or a junk yard. Any reason you need cats?
