Default Loud, repeating, clunking noise

Noise under seats, close to the transmission. Happens when I am in 4th or 5th gear when I am coasting at about 1800 RPM and then I suddenly let off of the gas. Could it be motor mounts, or the crossmember mount? Need help! Sound starting to get louder. Also, I know its a newbie question, but I want to change the transmission fluid. I've done it on an automatic, but not on a T5, is there a plug and where do I fill it? Thanks

Check your u-joints, sounds like they might be going bad. As far as the oil change goes there are two plugs on the passenger side that use a 3/8 ratchet to remove. The lower is drain and upper fill. Make sure you use the right fliud. My 91 uses automatic tranny fluid.

I don't think it is the exhaust hitting the crossmember I have some clearance with the crossmember. And the U joints seem fine, but there is some play in the driveshaft, but not in the U joints. Could it be my transmission running dry. I'll check that. And by the way ericdk5.0, you got a damn good deal on your mustang.

there is a drain and fill plug on the right side of the t-5 tranny.. a 3.8 rachet will work to remove them

check the driveshaft bolts retorque them, most likely they are loose! it makes a hell of a noise when they are! i have 2 friends just had this same problem, both cars had loose driveshaft bolts!
only happens cruising at low rpm`s.

Drive shaft bolts are good. I checked it before. That has happened before to me. Fluid is good. I'll try pushin up on the driveshaft. Here is somethin I've also noticed, sometimes taking off from first gear, while im in the friction point, the car will jerk. I think it may be the clutch or the rear end. Thanks for the help again.
