removing smog
after replacing my plugs today I have realized just how much of a pita the smog hoses are on the passenger side... so I am thinking of ripping out all the smog equipment.
I just have a few questions...
1. does anyone have a link to the page at summit for the smog port plugs? you know to plug the back of the head?
2. will I run into any issues with fuel mileage, running issues/general driveability, code throwing? the car is primarily stock
3. will I need new O2 sensors?
4. for the tube that runs to the x-pipe, would I just plug that up?
5. what do I do with the egr?
6 is a smog delete pulley a better choice over simply running a shorter belt?
I just dont wanna fugger anything up

2. NO
3.NO
4.PLUG IT, I welded a bolt in mine
5.remove it and ecm will delete the function or leave it on, thermactor air system and or tubes going into heads have nothing to do with EGR operation nor affect it
6.run a shorter belt, I had to run the pulley cause with my elec pump tensioner kept pushing two ends of belt together

1)+1 on the bolts for the heads
2) doing this wont throw codes or lower mileage
3) no
4)plug the tube
5)nothing
while you are at it you should think about pulling the heads and porting the exhaust ports to free up some more flow, the air pump bosses stick up in the ports and are restrictive.

thanks for the info guys, I didnt know the EGR was not part of that system.
just outta curiosity, dont you pick up 1-2 hp by doing that? not that 1-2 hp really matter.
when I get around to taking it out(stuck at school with few tools) I want to hold on to it, in case I move somewhere with emissions and cant find a shady shop that would just put a sticker on it ;-)
