Sorry Another Gear Thread
I just got on a RPM vs. MPH calculator and it said that I would need lower than 3.73 rear gears to go faster than 120mph in 4th (3.73 is 6009 rpm on a 16/45/255 tire). I don't plan on going any higher than 6000 rpm cause its an old motor.
I was planning on getting 4.10s!!!
Is there anybody with 4.10s or 3.73s that trap around 120mph or higher in the 1/4 mile?
If so do you shift into 5th?!?! No, right?

here this is what you need to see 11.34 @120 with 3.73's and I still had more rpm to go and with a 275/50/15 tire: actually this is the 11.59 run but later that day I went 11.34 @120

Nice sounding car!!! Was that run on the stock t5? Do you remember how many rpms were left to hit 6000? The reason I ask is because I really want 4.10, and the calculator said that near redline the 4.10s run 660 rpms higher. Thanks.

go with a 275 50 15 tire and that'll lower the rpm's, soon I'm gonna pop 4:10's in mine and yes that was on the stock t-5, key is don't slam it hard out of the hole, leave some in the bag and the t-5 will hold up as for rpm's I'd say it may have been a tad over 5k but never really looked I just know it still had more to go as for me hitting 6k my motor makes power well past that, got the xe282 hr cam and rpm power band is to 6600

okay c-6 then, I'm not a corvette buff so no clue on the differences in models and if I beat the **** out of it, it probably wouldn't make it past the 60ft on the stock t-5..LOL......with the new 347 and 100 shot if it hooks and doesn't break anything I'm sure it'll pull a 10.80 to 10.90 range, the 347 alone pulled an 11.79@117 on all motor
