Default oiling ring question

Ok i remember back when everone was doin the 347 stroker they were talkin about the oiling ring. Well im doin a 408 and im running into the same thing. Will the oiling ring that intersects with the wrist pin burn alot more oil. If so im goin to a 393 i dont wanna worry about burning a ton of oil.

Not if you use a good piston. My Mahles are the same way on my 302, but they use a thick steel ring that supports the underside of the oil control ring. Pin goes in, then the oil support ring, then the oil ring. It has 0 oil control issues.

My JE pistons for our 302 also has the ring in the pin no problems with our stuff at all even under big boost. when you say Keith black piston I hope you are not talking of Hypereutectic ones. I have seen so many motors use oil and have mystery blow by and seen one blow the ring lands out but that was the builders fault not enough ring gap I wont build a motor with them for my self or a customer. But that's me.

Yes im goin to use the hypers. Their good pistons dunno y everyone puts them down. Im not goin to be running high boost or a high com ratio. There are peoplay all over the net using them with hp number up into the 900 range with blowers nitrous and turbos.

kieth blacks are fine, I have .200 dome ones and they worked fine, even sprayed a 100 shot on them, on the stroker pistons there should be a support ring under the control rings , no worry 347 doesn't burn oil nor does the 408, my 347 hasn't burned a drop yet
