Default Wanting some ideas for 95GT

I am picking up a 95 GT from a buddy when he gets back from the eastcoast in mid November. It has the 5.0 in it and I already know I need to change the struts, shocks and coil. It has 136K on it and is in pretty good condition except for the dented in driver's door. I am wondering about what items I can put on it for some more power and mileage and anything else. I have had nothing but troubles with fords in the past but I cant pass up this car. I build chevy race motors for some friends at the local circle tracks (very competitive) but I have never had any luck redoing Fords. Trust me I like them but I have never had much luck. (one time redid a 351w three times as it kept losing nuber 1 with in a week). Thanks all

Since you build motors and i do not, lol you probably know more than me but anyways, as long as the maintenance was kept up 136k is not bad at all, these motors run way past that, there tons of people on her with well over that. as far as power goes, first thing i would do is remove the air silencer( if its not already out) and bump the timing to like 12-15. then start at the exhaust, nice catback and mid pipe. when it comes to the motor, go for gold and do heads, our stock heads suck ***.

Go to www.maximummotorsports.com and get their subframe connectors, the aluminum steering rack bushings, and the Panhard Bar kit. The bar will tame the back end of the car and actually make it handle like it was made in the last quarter of the 20th century.

I believe the 95 is still 5.0, if it was a 4.6 I'd say to just sell it! Sorry, not a fan of the smaller-but-bigger-and-heavier modular motor.

OK I ordered the maximum motorsports subframe connectors and the MM sport series dampener package. Will get underdrive pulleys so I can bypass nonworking air ans smog pump.

Looking for some advice...
Is there a benefit to adding subframe connectors to a stock stang? Would my money be better spent on a rear sway bar?
Also looking to replace suspension. In your opinion what is the best brand for a man on a budget?
Thanks,

Ok here goes, this would be my list (I owned a 95 for 3 years)

1. CAI & remove the rubber silencer
2. off road H-pipe & muffler set (it adds a little HP & the sound is awesome)
3. Gears (373), this is a must due to the extra weigh of these cars over the fox chasis. This will be one of your favorite mods!!
4. Short throw shifter (this just makes the driving experience so much better, I have done this to all my cars)
5. Springs (Eibach pro-kit) I have lowered every car I have had
6. Headers
7. Alum Heads & a cam
8. A good tune
9. Sub frame connectors
10. A better upper/lower intake

The above will wake the car up, stiffen up the chasy, make it much funner to drive & sound great!! If I am correct with the mods above HP should be in the 260's (give or take)to the wheels. Which depending on how good of a driver you are & how good your tires are get you into the low 13's.

Good luck!!!
