The 460 is in a engine family know as the 385 and 360/390 are FE motors, the last time a FE was used was in the 77 F-series in a couple of different sizes mostly medium duty trucks. The only trannys I know that will go behind them are a C-6 or Ford's 10 bolt toploader, the trans that is in your landlord's truck is probably a NP-235 with the granny low first gear. Putting a FE in a fox would be quite a project and probably really not worth the gain for the work. But if you do keep us posted cause it will be interesting to watch this build!

as far as i know the 360 and 390 are the same block right? just different stroke

yep pushrods go through the intake very rare i think chrysler has 1 motor also thats the same thing

and yes 352-428 are ll the same blocks just different length strokes, cams, heads and such

and the 4 speed that is behind the 390 in the 74 is most likely a np435 with granny low and useles in a car as 1 is really low
