Default radiator hose

i have a 94 GT and the upper radiator hose (from radiator to top of water pump) has been swelling up alot lately. whenever it is driven until the water pump comes on the hose expands almost double the size. when it cooled off it would go back to regular size. it got to the point that the hose rubbed on the alternator pulley and finally popped today. i have replaced it, but does anyone have any idea of what is causing the hose to expand? the car is running at normal temperature...

it becomes deteriorated quicker since its not a solid object. The reason it becomes bloated or bubbles like that is because when it's under pressure that certain area which has slowly over time become thinner, now cannot hold the pressure like it used to. Pretty common on hoses that have higher mileage.

hehe if your new one bubbles like the other one did, you got a faulty hose, you shouldn't have to check if it bulges like that if you got a new one, just check to make sure you fitted the host and tightened it properly would be the only thing you SHOULD have to check.
