Default 5.0 swap in v6??

hey my friend selling a 87 5.0 engine and i was wondering if i would be able to put that in my 2000 v6. He seems to think we could but idk if it will work...what you think??

I believe the 3.8 bellhousing is the same in fact. You may need a different K Member though, not sure. Now that I think about it, the 5.0 may just bolt right in place of the 3.8...motor mount wise...I'd double check.

K member for sure....you'd have to swap the wiring for the computer as well...not sure if emissions is an issue for you...

would i just get the wiring harness from a junnkyard or something?..
why what would emission have to do with it?

because your car has obd2 which they started using in 1996, 5.0's had obd1. with your car they hook something up to the computer, on an obd1 system they do a sniffer test, and usually a visual inspection. with the recent crackdown on emissions, it will be almost impossible to get that setup to pass.......unless you know some people
