Default RE: Idle Problem Need Help!!!!

He's probably using a tweecer or tuner to adjust the dash pot, surging idle is usually caused by a rich condition. The idle adjuster plate which was mentioned works well, but a side effect on some applications has been a hanging idle when revved, a small price to pay for a steady idle and no stalling IMO. I had one on my car and it did cause the idle to hang a bit, but then I changed a whole bunch of sensors all at once and most of my problems are gone. I did have the surging, but now I'm down to just running slightly rich which I can sort of live with lol. I may try the idle plate again just to get the idle up a little, 700 with underdrive pulleys doesn't allow much charging at idle, and it seems to load up the motor running at that low as well with the X303 cam.

Thats the way the car came, and if I dick with the idle at all it surges and won't stay put. Yes I have followed the idle setting procedure to a T as well, its just a quirk I have learned to live with.

do this:

Clean the IAC, MAF, TB

then replace the PCV valve and the screen

that should fix the problem
