Shouldn't...... but you have to degree the cam + do some checking with clay. The B and X cams have both valves open .050" tappet lift (.086" with 1.7 rockers at the valve) @5° BTDC.... intake opening, exhaust closing..... IOW... the intake valve will be further from its seat at TDC and post TDC.... that's the one to check for possible PtV issues. LUK

do you have a general idea what i should degree it at? or just play with it until its right?

edit. also is there a diff between 1.6 or 1.5 exhaust valves? would it matter on the heads im putting them on? i have a couple diff people recomending both to me. im kind of confused on that

First of all, you have to check "where" the events are occurring with the cam installed in the "dot-to-dot" position. Using that keyway, does not mean the cam will fall under the advertised specs in the cam card (I've installed OTC cams that would have 4° off either way, on top of the cam specs using the "0" or "dot-to-dot" position)...... Those heads were installed back in 1991, the aftermarket was still lacking options out there. Would I do the same setup again?.... nope. Have they "behaved" within their limitations in flow?.... yep, reason for the X-303 and rockers.

No ET numbers yet, just "victims".......will get them after I finish a color change/resto and install the 3.90 gears + rear suspension. Then it's TFS 190 heads and custom cam time....... until the block gives way to a 347.....

how do you think they'd perform for me? ported typhoon, comp xe270, hardland 1.6's, ported '66 heads with bigger valves. i assumed it'd be a stout little build.
