I just did the most half assed fix I've ever done on any of my cars, instead of the number of decent ideas you all had, I just loosened the bolts and I put some scrap metal between the pump and bracket and then torqued the bolts down again. I only needed less than half an inch.


What was ford thinking with these solid brackets? If in the future I have the pump out again, do you think it'd be alright to cut out the section between the side bolts so that I can pull the pulley outside of the engine bay?
