better tires in the front or back
my 4 tires are all the same size. this is how i got it. the front tires are in decent shape and the back tires are in good shape. for better control and wear, should they be rotated or should the better tires stay in the rear? i am waiting on funds before buying new ones.

Yup, keep them in the rear. I knew someone who had new tires put only on the front and ended up spinning the car into a divider on the highway in the rain.
If the grip is uneven you'd rather understeer than oversteer on the street.

Even on a front wheel drive car. The better tires should be in the rear.
The issue of getting unstuck from snow or mud will always be a loud arguement on why the better tires should be in the front but for highway stability in the rain and ESPECIALLY snow, better tires on the rear.
As for rotation. Get into a schedule and you will keep the wear on all 4 equal.

Yeah I have to go against the majority here and say the good tires go on the front. If you drive normally (ie not burning out all over the place) the front tires will wear faster because they take the majority of the pressure of turning and stopping the car. If you put the good tires on the rear and drive normal you will end up with two worn tires and two good tires...

my thing, probably the reason on doing it this way before, was that half my driving is on highway, and a blowout would be easier controled if it was one of the tires in the rear, another reason why i've had the better tires up front. i've been told this before too but more by people that are not real mechanics. i'm not during any burnouts, but this is my first mustang that i like to drive hard, especially being that it took me a while to get the thing first moving. but in the rain, i drive like a sissy really no matter what car i'm in. this is just the first car that i've been in that has some quicker rear wheels.
