Operator error.... Restabbing the distributor, Is the car at TDC? Are you sure? You could be 180 off (top of the exhaust stoke). Where is the #1 cylinder terminal at when you stab the distributor? You can't just have #1 anywhere, it needs to be at just before 12 o'clock when you are looking at it from the front of the car (#1 will be toward the intake). This needs to be oriented corrected so the Hall Effect Sensor (TFI) can detect what cylinder to send the injector signal.

Did you convert the heads to stud mount rockers. If so you may have the valves adjusted wrong causing them to hang open.

No, if it's running like crap and it was running fine before, you missed something. It does not need to go to a shop to be tuned.

Again, what about TDC (right front cylinder)? Have you run KOEO/KOER tests? Fuel pressure?

Take out the spark plug, put your finger over the hole and feel for compression. Verify you are on the right cylender for your 12 o'clock rotor position. You could be 180* out.

Im not familear with ford firing order but with sbc its #1, Probably the same.
