I don't like them either but some brands of gear drives let you easily change the cam timing. A plus if you are a "tuner" ( not the new kind of tuner ).

Cloyes Hex Adjust chain is as easy as it gets. Well other than a Belt drive set up.

Thanks for the info, I want that gear drive sound as my dad had it on his 63 and the car we were gonna build b4 he passed away was going to have it too so i am building the cdar we would have...no posers here, just old school.

In a case like that I can understand. Sorry to hear about your dad passing. My Dad passed in 94 and there isn't a day that goes by that I don't think about him.
