Wife called me from Wal-Mart and said her car wont start(94 gt). I get there I got it started drove it home, it was idling @ 2000-2500rpm and running like it is loading up or something. I pull it into garage turn it off and emiately try to start it and it wont start. I put the gas pedal all the way to the floor and after 5-6 seconds it will hit on 4-5 cylinders and puff out a black strong fuel smelling smoke/fumes then nothing. Here is where I confused...It is got good fuel pressure it is getting fuel into cylinders (it smells like fuel all through garage)I pull plug and fuel on the plug. I put a plug into a plug wire and it is firing good.
Spark + fuel = start right??? Not in my case.

 

unplug the MAF and try starting it again

 

if unplugging the maf works, try cleaning it afterwards

 

Would the maf cause it not to start at all?

 

if it's flooding as a result of a fubar maf then that will cause a no/hard start
