it is possible your cap and rotor are just not a mathing pair example your cap is after market msd and your rotor is original to the mallory distributor? the best thing is to buy a matching set cap and rotor made by mallory for that distributor. make sure you specify your application to the local drag mart, as there could be 1,2 or even 3 different set-ups.
