Vin Number

Looking into buying a 5.0 i think this car might have been a 4 cyl swap is there a way to telll in the vin number if it was an original 8 cyl?

if i remember correctly, it should be sumwhere on the dash, or in ur manuel

I don't think he was asking where it is,just write it down and go to a delarship and they should be able to tell you everything about the car like,car color,interior,tranny,motor,rearend,etc.

The eighth digit should be the engine ident code, if it is an A or M, it was orignally a 2.3 liter, an E is a 5.0.

and i went to the decoder that pure 5.0 had and its not true for my year anyway cause it said my car had airbags lol
