88 mustang wheel and tire clearance

I was wondering if i would still be able to lower my car if i upgrade to 17 " cobra r rims not sure the tire size i need

yes you can but you will most likely have to go with a 40 tall tire if you plan on dropping it 1 to 1.5 inches.
