Default 1985 mustang 5.0 auto just got her..need some help on a problem??

I just got a 1985 mustang gt auto 64,000 miles..What do you guys think should i leave it carbed and just blow it roots style or do a efi conversion...i know for sure iam going to do a t-5 swap not really soon but soon enough...and this car will not start i have not had time to tinker with it but he says the ecm is blowen...cause the car is not getting fuel when he sprays fuel into the throttle body it will run...he says its the ecm and he also says he checked the fuel pump and it was fine....anyone got any ideas is this just a common stupid fix...just trying to save me some time lol when i get home to tinker

I see it's your first post. Welcome to the forum although I'm a newbie as well.

Reading your post it sounds like you want to convert your automatic carbed 5.0 to EFI or run a roots type blower.
But you got to get it started first.

Who is he? Is he a mechanic?
If your mechanic is telling you the computer is no good then start there.

Remanufactured ecm's aren't expensive and they can be rebuilt.
Here's one example from eBay

And here''s a link to a company that rebuilds them.

So your aware in 1985 automatic gt's came with "throttle body fuel injection" (TBI for short). Only 5 speeds were carbed.

I hope this information helps!

all auto equipped 5.0's in 85 were CFI= central fuel injection......check the relay under the seat, also you need to verify that the ecm is sending a signal to the relay to ground the windings, I doubt the ecm is bad

True! That's what Ford called it. CFI.
But not to confuse the guy it's still Throttle Body fuel Injection.
