Default Adding supercharger to 171,000 mile 5.0?

Would it be ok if i ran a supercharger at 6-7 psi on a good running 171,000 mile 5.0? Thinking about doing it but was wondering if it would be fine.

do a compression & leak down test first, make sure the rings are good.
if that checks out, go for it. u got forged pistons stock, so.. at the boost levels you want, you'd be fine. just be sure upgrade fuel pump & injectors/maf too.

Personally, I would not put F/I on a car with 171,000 miles. You will be experiencing blow-by in no time. But to contradict this, I knew a guy running a 125 shot on ha 5.0 with 225,000 miles. So....your call. But you're also 18 and have 3 cars. Personally, I would not waste your money and I would think about your priorities. IMO!

I say if the kid has the money to buy 3 cars then so be it. He's an adult and he can do what he wants. Run a compression and leak down test, if the results are good blow it!

Very true. He's an adult and it is his $$. But there are many things that I did to my car and wish I hadn't. Reason why I say this is because I am 19. There's school, savings, etc.
