Rack and pinion steel lines won't seal...Help!!
#21
yea, its my fault for removing them in the first place. I can't believe i ruined the rack just to fix the slightlest leak. Oh well, another lesson learned. I just took a look at the rack to see how to remove it. The only part im not sure of is how to remove it from the steering shaft.

I finally fixed the leak or should I say rigged it. I put some silicone on the ends of the connections and slapped on some JB weld around the outside of the 2 connections. It leaks a little bit, but i put some lucas stop leak and it helped slow the leak. I did figure out why these metal lines won't seal after you remove them. Inside each thread hole at the bottom is a teflon ring that the lines snaps into, once removed it won't seal tight again b/c these are repleced when its remaned. Hopefully it will work out for a couple of months and I'll replace it.
