Default throttle body question

is it necessary to change the tb spacer as well, when changing the tb? or can you get by with only changing the tb itself?

change the spacer too. an bigger tb won't do any good unless the spacer is bigger too.

you can also put a T/B which is a lil bigger than the T/B on as well some put a 67mm spacer with a 65 T/B.. but remember you have to open up the opening in the intake

save the money, buy a 3 stone cylinder hone from the parts store and hone out the spacer and the opening of the upper intake. dont get radical, use a tape measure to get them as close to the size of the TB as possible, a little bigger wont hurt, smaller will. also, your stock maf will also be a restriction with the bigger TB, so when money allows get a bigger one. the c&l 78mm works good. and you can get them for a little over $100 bucks.

no stone..just use a dremal tool with a 80 grit flap wheel.this will help to keep the opening round.then use a a small 120 git cone to smooth everything out..make sure you use a rag or rags to fill the opening to prevent shavings going in the engine..use a shop vac to pull them out before removing the rags

a 3 stone cylinder hone will keep it perfectly round, how could it not??? then use 2000grit wet/dry sandpaper if you want a mirror finish.

it could, but most don't have them unless they do alot of caliper rebuilds, not knocking your idea

most people dont have a dremel and a flap wheel either, and a hone is like $15, and will keep the opening true. not knocking your idea either.

could you open the stock tb spacer with the egr still in place? it looks like the egr plunger will get in the way.
