you look at the wear pattern of the gear. You said that your starters go out and show that they arent pulling enough amps...

I'd say you have a ground problem. check your main neg battery cable. battery to frame, frame to block. If necessary, run another ground wire from the pass side frame directly to one of the starter bolts.

At twice a week, that's only about 84 starts per starter. That's terrible!!! I would find a clamp on amp clamp and see what a good one is drawing on the car. I agree, sounds like a cable issue.

Follow your nagative ground battery cable to where it bolts to your engine and unbolt it there and thoroughly clean it to ensure proper ground.

This solved a problem for me and it is good to do either way for your system.

You might find the "green death" oxidation there - get it clean.

Good luck.

I would check the grounds like mentioned above. Once you have the grounds cleaned up, remove the Advance Auto rebuilt starter, attach a rope to one of the bolt holes, and use it for a boat anchor. They're absolutely junk!. Spend a few extra dollars on a new unit, you'll be happy you did. The cheap rebuilds skimp in areas like brushes, and windings, and don't have near the torque of a new unit, plus they wear out quickly. I speak from experience.

make sure at all ground points you scuffed the paint to bare metal for a good ground.
