Torque converter
Hi, I just ordered my 3.73's today so I was already thinking about what I want to mod next. I was thinking about doing a shift kit and torque converter. The only problem is, I have no clue really on what the hell a torque converter really is and what would be best for my car. So what would you recommend? I plan on doing heads, cam, and a 331 stroker/351w swap (not sure which one yet), but those won't be for another year or so with the possible exception of the cam. So what torque converter would you recommend going with. I plan on having a shop install these things, so it there anything else that I would need to buy other than a shift kit and torque converter? Thanks in advance.

RE: Torque converter
a 3000rpm converter would be good. to be safe, id put in a trans cooler too cause the high stall converter will make a lot of heat. while your in there, get a manual valve body and ratchet shifter

RE: Torque converter
i got both for you.
i would go with a stall that ranges 2800 to 3200. with foot brake youll see about 2400 at flash youll see about 3k depending on the cars weight and power. i had the 3k in my car and it really woke up the car off the line.
manual VBs are nice for track but not a DD. and if you let someone else drive the car it could relate to havoic on the car if they dont know much about one
