My dashlights do not work when I turn headlights on, but will come on if I turn the dome light on. Any ideas where I need to start. I am assuming it is an easy fix. I have taken the bulb out of the domelight at night so that I can have dash lights but not be blinded.

Also, my speedo bounces up and down and I am not at all sure how fast I am going. What needs to be adjusted and/or replaced for that.

As for the speedo, you could try to lube the cable going into the back of the cluster with some graphite.

As for the no dash light issue, that could be possibly a bad multifunction switch (headlight switch) but i would suggest checking out some wiring diagrams and tracing some wires.

Hey i got the exact same problem with my 90 gt. As does my buddy with his 89. The dash lights do not work unless the switch is on the domelight. As for that problem you need a new dimmer switch as it is bad. I havent bought a new one because if you put the switch on the domelight and move it slightly the dome light will stay off and the dash lights will work fine. just my .2 cents
