differential prob?

it seems like my rear end makes noise when i get off the gas when i'm going slow in 1st shifting to 2nd. I let off the gas and it makes a sorta squeek noise. And of course i do the occasional 1 wheel wonder. So is a new diff in the question or would a re-build be good enough?
