EEC won't self-test
It's a 5.0 engine/harness, but swapped into a '66. If this needs to be moved, please do so, and I apologize.
Swap has been running great for about 6 months. Had a dead battery, tried jumping off my DD car. Got it to fire up, but b/c its not t uned properly, cold start is still kinda rough and i gotta tap the accelerator to keep it running. It died (b/c i wasnt fast enough) and the battery wasnt taking enough of a charge to really let me try again.
I took the battery in and its reliability was questionable, so I replaced it. Now the car will turn over but not fire.
Tried jumping a wire and using a test light to run a KOEO self test but no matter what I do, I cannot get the light to blink. Here is what I Know:
The light works.
I hear the fuel pump turn on.
the fuses for the ignition, fuel pump, o2 sensors, and ecu are good
have good fuel pressure
It was 1030pm and I decided to give it a break. Now that the weather is nice, it breaks on me, while its been runnin perfect when the weathers 30 or below, typical.
Can anyone help as to why the ECU will nt do a self test? Its a '91 harness, so if I can get wire colors of what to jump it would be awesome.
What about where to start to diagnose? Without a sef test, im lost.
p.s. - sorry for the long post
