Default oil pressure

ill be driving and when i give it gas the oil pressure will slowly go down until i let off the gas. when i bought the car the person put a dip stick tube that doesnt fit in there and will fall out while driving. could this be causing the drop in oil pressure? ive tryed to get a new dip stick but the ones at the parts store dont fit in. all they have is the after market ones. know where i can find a stock one?

a loose dipstick tube will not cause a drop in oil pressure. However bad engine grounds can cause the stock gauge to give you a faulty reading.

Do yourself a favor, get an aftermarket mechanical gauge

What he said. Hook up mechanical gauge and see what real oil pressure is doing. Post result.

I had the same issue. It was a bad pressure sensor. I followed these guys advice and hooked up a mechanical gauge to verify i had pressure. If you dont want to do the verification a pressure sensor isn't all that expensive.

my autometer gauge would do that if i was going like 60+ mph

just figured it was from the speed and the oil moving around

at the track holding it WOT i watched the gauge in every gear and it sat at about 50 the whole time
