is it running too cool?
#2
I'm running a completely stock and original car.
At operating temp, my fact temp gauge always read at or just below the "3 o'clock" position and I drove around like this for years.
Eventually, when I changed the rad and water pump, the gauge has read a little lower, more towards, but just above, the "4 o'clock" position.
These fact gauges are not know for being objectively accurate and giving specific readings, but can usually be counted on to indicate any CHANGES in what is going on.
You can measure the rad hoses when the car is warmed up to see how hot they are using a thermometer.
Seems to me my fact temp guage has an upper and a lower number on it. In that case, just superimpose the missing nubmers equally spaced between the two and you should get a reading that is fairly close to what your actual temperature measurement is. And that number should correspond to the temp calibration of your thermostat.
