I just bought my first mustang, its an 83 5.0. I cannot get the starter to turn over at all I need to know if there is a fuse for the ignition or no and what to try to get it to work.

start at battery and wiring, then solenoid, then look at the starter.

Don't waste your time with the ignition. You need to get it cranking first.

If you cross the 2 big lugs on your starter solenoid and it cranks. This verifies the starter, battery, starter wires are good.

If the starter solenoid clicks but it will only crank when you cross the big lugs. Probably the starter solenoid.

If no clicking, then you need to check the 2 small lugs. One should be grounded when in neutral or clutch pedal down. The other should be hot when the key is at start position.
