fuel pump ?

I have a 88 gt. I recently put a gas tank and fuel pump out of a 86 capri v6 in it, the car starts and runs but has a mis to it. My question is, Will a v6 motor fuel pump work for a 5.0 motor? This is the first time I have had the car started i bought it not runnig. Any help welcomed! THANX!

According to Autozone's website, the Capri fuel pump is rated at 40-50 GPH, which is well above a stock 5.0, which came stock with 88 LPH.
