Default fuel pressure problems?

i have a supercharged 88 5.0. The motor is bone stock. when i installed the vortech low boost supercharger i had to install this thing called a FMU it hooks up to my return line on my fuel tank that is to raise my fuel pressure but i dont know with its workin or not. When i get on it real hard she starts cuttin out at 3500rpms like im not gettin fuel? so i figured the FMU isnt workin but then someone told me i need to advance my timing... does anyone have any idea why it is cuttin out?
and one more thing my smog pump locked up on me i now i can take it out but will it hurt anything and what hoses do i have to remove?

thank you for your time

Get a fuel pressure gauge and a boost gauge. Depending on which FMU you have, will depend on the increase in fuel pressure with positive boost pressure.

Also i have heard that removing smog pump and leaving cats will cause the cats to plug up, I have not done thorough research or had this experience to tell you for sure.
