Twisted off my oil pump shaft so I removed the pan & pump and found this trash in the oil pump - (1) piece was in the pump, (1) piece was in the pan.

I don't see a hole that the metal could have gotten through the pickup screen, but it did.

Can you tell me what this is from? I'm at a loss....

I don't know what those chunks are from, But I'm pretty sure it isn't healthy :P

Kind of looks like a lock washer broken in half... Check all internal engine bolts.

Stopped at the local speed shop on the way home from work....He said it looked to him like the anit-crush ring found on valve cover gaskets. That makes perfect sense now that he mentioned it. The previous owner said he replaced the vc gaskets a month before he decided to sell it. ....(nice job)

Apparently it takes 2 years of driving for that to work it's way thru the oil pump pickup screen!

Anyhow, no point in bitchin about it...Got myself a chance to freshen up my engine, so nothing but smiles on my end!
