Do I need that screen that is in the stock one?? The new one didn't come with a screen. I've heard that the screen is neccesary for the right calibration.

if youre using a C&L meter use it for sure, especially if you got a CAI. it splits the airflow to give the MAF a more accurate reading. it also catches leaves and big debri. ive seen a ciggarette butt stuck to one before.

C&L for mine didnt have a screen. for my GMs i took off the screens, there have been claims with the GMs of about 1hp but if something gets past the filter then damm thats some small stuff. i cant see anything large getting past a filter

hey quick, so your running yours w/ou the screen then... Cool thanks for the help, I'm gettin my or h pipe on today so after I pick up my car from the exhaust shop I'm gonna throw in the maf and see if I can notice a differance.

i dont mean that the butt got past the filter, or a leaf can, i cant tell you how the hell they got in there, but they did, and the screen stopped them. some aftermarket MAFs dont come with a screen and some do. what i meant was IF you can use it its best too.
