Default Heating problem

My A/C works great, I set it to max ac and move the temperature switch to cold and it blows cold air, which is great for hot summer day. It is starting to get colder since winter is near. I move the temperature switch to max hot and on defrost. The air blows very cold when I want to warm up and I have the temperature setting on hot. I checked under the hood to see if the ac compressor is running while I have my temperature setting on hot and the ac compressor is spinning. It seems to me that I am stuck on blowing cold air no matter what. How can I fix this problem? Any help would be appreciated.

I don't think thats your problem but if you want to see if it helps just unplug the compressor, theres a little electrical connector on the top of the compressor, if that solves your problem then somthings up with your switch.

Is there a vacuum that suppose to activate the hot air blowing?

Check plenum and see if temperature cable is moving. (on drivers side, from throttle look up.) Ever notice how the windshield defrosts before the engine gets hot? A/C is ON when any of defrost , defrost/mix functions are engaged. This is normal. No vacum changes temperature-cable does.
