Default steering wheel application

I would like to know how you remove the airbag (4 bolts on the back side?) and steering wheel on my 90 LX? Also, when you remove the airbag and center bolt on the steering wheel is the shaft splined or smooth with two flat spots on the shaft? I removed a aftermarket steering wheel on a 87 and was wanting to put it on my 90, are they the same?

Default RE: steering wheel application

I have found you must disconnect the battery and wait 15-30 min. before removing the bag and steering wheel. Then you may install an aftermarket steering wheel like a Grant. Only problem is the airbag light and/or a buzzer. Has anyone done this on a 90-93 Mustang and if so, was there only a light, buzzer, or both? Also was the shaft for the steering wheel egg shaped? I need to make sure this wheel is going to fit. Any information would help, thanks.
