jack up the rear end, with the car in neutral.
Mark one of the rear tires.
Mark the driveshaft.
Spin the marked tire 1 single revolution.
Count the number of times the driveshaft goes around.
2.75=2.73:1
3=3.08:1
3.25= 3.27:1
3.5=3.55:1
3.75=3.73:1
~4 = 3.90 or 4.10:1... depending on if its a little before a whole turn, or a little after.
