Default body work help!

ok so around my sunroof there is some big rust holes, and i know im just going to fill those in with bondo, but on the bottom of my doors there is a couple more, if i were to get the bondo to stick on the bottom lip of the door how could i do that? i could probably put it on sloppy and then just sand it right? i mean can you sand bondo? thanks

you can but youll go throw a ton of sand paper, its kinda like spackle the thicker you put it on the more sanding work your gonna have to do with it. plus with out removing all rust the rust will eventually spread and create more rust. most rust holes are cut out back to good metal and then new sheet metal is butt welded in. its tough to do all that and have it actually look good it takes a lota practice. how large are the holes? if they are to large bondo will just eventually crack from flex and vibration over the large surface area

we already sanded down to the point of no more rust, so the rust is gone, and if you hold a quarter up to the holes on the bottom of the door there no bigger than half the quarter

o ok thats not bad at all. if your sure all the rust has been removed you can fill the holes with bondo there are several different kinds, but for a larger gap like a hole you could use fiberglass and resin or panel bond material. bond will work but to be sure it doesnt work get the kind wiht the fiberglass hairs inbeded in it to help keep it from cracking
