well tonight i got engine on stand n all painted up . but earlier today i replaced all gaskets except head gaskets . put new oil pump and new timing chain in it as well figured it would be a good idea to do . and i bout sht when i priced the stuff . my engine is out of a 88 but i priced parts for 95 seeing how thats what year my car is i figured it all would be same n same prices and what a shocker ... timing chain for 95 was like 87.99 and oil pump was round same price so i was like wtf so jus went ahead n said ok price for 88 motor n LOT cheaper. timing chain was 27.99 for double roller and oil pump was like 25 i think . so went that route

dont know where youre getting prices from, but you could get stuff from a 69 302 or an 01 out of an exploder for those things THEYRE ALL THE SAME...

the ONLY differences between out motors and the fox's are:

timing cover / water pump assembly

cam is slightly less aggressive

our ECU is FAR superior to the A9L

IPS on the tranny is ~ 5/8" longer as is the bearing reatiner

^^^ obviously the bellhousing is different too...

acces. brackets

rear end is about ~1" wider

5 lug wheels

4 wheel disc brakes

and fox exhaust parts will NOT WORK!!!!!!!

believe us, it is not.

when you buy exhaust parts for your car, you would be wise to buy 94-95 pieces. I personally have tried to fit fox parts on my car.... Don't make the same stupid mistakes that I did.

the diference is enough that they dont interchange. Its not something you can change by just making a pipe longer.

deal with it, and let it go.
