Default 1987 mustang starter and surge problems

Hey
my mustang is having problems starting it, it the starter is grinding with the flywheel so i replaced the flywheel and the started about 4 times. Now its doing it again the starters are only lasting about two weeks.

Surge problem, when im in 3rd gear doing about 20mph my car jumps and i have no idea what it could be i replaced the rotor cap, solenoid, plugs, oil and the belt. so idk if it a fuel problem or if my timing is off and when im i take of fast the car takes a second then it goes. my car is stock.

Common surge issue that goes undiagnosed in Fox mustangs is the gas tank. It (like all tanks) has a baffle that surrounds the pump. Fox stock tanks had bad welds on the baffles, and after some spirited driving, the fuel slosh can break them free, causing a surge issue any time you have a mid-low level of fuel and use the throttle pedal heavily from dead stops or hard right hand turns, and other various circumstances. Only way to verify is to drop the tank, pull the pump, and look down(don't use a lighter for a flashlight).

As for the starter, you might have shim it to get it aligned properly. Misalignment will eat up starters quickly.

when I read this first thing that popped in my head is what are you doing in 3rd gear at 20 MPH? If your RPM range gets too low it can cause such an issue, what RPM are you running at with this issue?
