Default 95 Mustang GT Power Steering Pump

The fluid appears to be almost black, or a very dark brown. (the fluid was just swapped out recently when the rack and pinion was replaced). It also has a burnt metal smell to it. Any easy fixes, or just Replace the pump??

Pumps don't cause changes in fluid, racks do. Reflush.

Do you have the steering bellows on tight? What fluid you using? Foxes call for ATF4

Just a note that the sn95 calls for ATF type F and should be red in color.
