SQUEALING serpentine belt!!! HELP!!!

RE: SQUEALING serpentine belt!!! HELP!!!
I pretty sure I'll want the AC next summer after this past one though....does anyone actually know the HP gain from not having the AC? I think most do it just to save on weight I guess. It's getting cooler here now so I just installed the compressor back on so I'd have the pulley. I wouldn't see where having a tad bit longer belt rapped over one more pulley would hender HP as long as it wasnt on, right? Sorry guys...I'm freaking out over all this junk. You all know how your mind plays tricks on you....[&o]

RE: SQUEALING serpentine belt!!! HELP!!!
I have a 95 5.0 supercharged also the same set up as sc94gt with the motorsort (powerdyne) charger. I am having the same problems with my belt. I thoguht it was the power steering pump cause it made noise when I turned, the fluid was burnted up and the pulley would move 1/4 of a inch foward and backward when I had the belt off. Never knew of a car that power steering pump would move. I swapped out the pump for a new one and the pulley does the same thing and my belts still squeak.

RE: SQUEALING serpentine belt!!! HELP!!!
Well now my dang compressor is making a squealing/whistling noise from 2200rpm and up, which seems to be far worse a sound! Guess the dang clutch pulley is going out or maybe the bearings or something inside? Danged if you do and danged if you dont with these cars....
