Default RE: flywheels

using a heavy flywheel IE:billet steel will allow you to leave th eline harder due to the rotating weight of the flywheel.

using a light one IE: billet aluminum will allow the motor to rev faster due to the lighter spinning rotation

unless you race alot...use the aluminum

this is funny as hell..no don't use a alum flywheel on a street car.....on a stock engine it will tend to bog unless you rev it higher than normal..also between every shift rpm will drop faster because it can't build up so call energy to keep the R'S up between shifts...this is why stated above he has his rev's going up and down.....

does anyone know if lightened flywheels are bad for your car if your motor is basically stock or should you keep the stock flywheel? someone answer for once please
It's not 'Bad' for the car as it does drop the rotational mass which means less wear...BUT, i asked a similar question a while ago. Unless you have a highly modded car, the lower rotational mass will affect the drivability. In otherwords, it may be more hearky-jerky and more sensitive to how you let off the clutch. Take a look at this article...
