Mustang Fuel Pump Question
Hey guys-
I have a 91' Stang with a 347 Stroker. Fuel pump wasn't working when I pulled it out of hibernation this year, so I replaced it with a 255LPH unit. It quit working again 2 months later in June- Went to start car after sitting for 2-3 weeks, and it wouldn't start. I replaced it, and I also found a leaking fuel rail which I fixed- I thought that may have burnt out the pump. Now, I went away to college, and sitting in storage for 4 weeks, the fuel pump seems to have burnt out again. Turn key, and the pump doesn't engage.
Any ideas on what may be causing this problem? I was thinking that the wiring to the pump doesn't have enough resistance and is getting too much current... is that possible? Or perhaps a bad fuel pump relay. Does anybody know what the current should be at the pump?
Any help is appreciated! Id like to get her back on the road soon!
