Default Mustang Fuel Pump Question

Hey guys-

I have a 91' Stang with a 347 Stroker. Fuel pump wasn't working when I pulled it out of hibernation this year, so I replaced it with a 255LPH unit. It quit working again 2 months later in June- Went to start car after sitting for 2-3 weeks, and it wouldn't start. I replaced it, and I also found a leaking fuel rail which I fixed- I thought that may have burnt out the pump. Now, I went away to college, and sitting in storage for 4 weeks, the fuel pump seems to have burnt out again. Turn key, and the pump doesn't engage.
Any ideas on what may be causing this problem? I was thinking that the wiring to the pump doesn't have enough resistance and is getting too much current... is that possible? Or perhaps a bad fuel pump relay. Does anybody know what the current should be at the pump?
Any help is appreciated! Id like to get her back on the road soon!

You need to check all the connections at the pump and on the intank unit portion, and test the pump on a bench to see if infact the pump is DOA, also could do a output check at the alt to see if it's not overcharging, but that could cause multiple issues as well, check for power back at the pump with KOEO for first few seconds of key cycle, if good check for power while cranking, if good = wiring/relay good, then check intank unit
