Default 89 Mustang GT

I just purchased my first 5.0 mustang. It is a little rough around the edges but runs good overall. Looking for some help. I noticed under the hood that this valve is not connected to anything. Don't really know much about cars but I am trying to learn. Does anyone know if I need to fix this?

On your passanger side valve cover where the oil filler neck is there should be a hose or nipple there . That tube is supposed to have a line going from it to the oil ventilation of the valve cover.

Could not having this hose attached blow oil past the rear seal if I got on the throttle hard? I drove the car all day and there was no oil leak and then I pushed it very hard for about 10 minutes. When I got home there was quite a bit of oil underneath. I checked the oil and it was about a quart low. I put oil in it and then drove it for about 30 mins really easy. Got home and there were only a few drips coming out.
