Windows go down, but...
I have a '94 GT coupe and I can use the switches to make my windows go down, but not back up. If I click the up position on the switch for the window about 3,000 times eventually I get lucky and it will roll back up. It does this for both windows and all three switches to control the two windows. As an added bonus, my door lock switches are beginning to do the same thing. Any thoughts? Relays?
Thanks in advance.

do you hear the window motors running?? if so are they going click click click?
if yes then you need this kit for each window

I can't hear motor running and I have never spilled anything in the car. I do Armoral the inside occasionally, so maybe that has gotten in there. Am I even able to get the switch apart to clean the contacts in them, or are we talking new switch?

The window motors only have two wires. To make it go up, wire A gets voltage and wire B gets ground. To make it go down, wire B gets voltage and wire A gets ground. That simple. So if the motor works going down then the problem isn’t the motor or the wires to the motor. The switch is what determines which wire gets power and which wire gets ground (with the exception of the passenger window switches where the window lock-out button is thrown in the mix, if your ride has one).
With that said, my vote is that there is some kind of restriction preventing the windows from going up. I’d pull the door panel off and have a look inside. Chances are you just need to grease up the window runners. Failing that, my second vote is for bad/dirty/corroded contacts in the window switch.
Good luck...

You can clean the contacts of the switch , but be warned they are not a simple thing to reassemble . It is easier to replace them. And yes if you have sprayed armor all into the switch it can cause problems. ..
Simple test remove door panel unplug switch , jump power to one wire at a time down then up. If you can get the window to go up by jumping power then the contacts in the switch are either dirty or worn.

Thanks for the feedback. I'll try to have a look at it this weekend. Fortunately it is in the garage right now, so it isn't the end of the world just yet and can wait until we get out of the single digit temps for an afternoon. It does seem odd that all three switches only work going down, though. I'll report back what I find.

I finally got around to replacing the switches in the door for the windows and locks. I bought some used ones off eBay and everything works fine now. I pulled one of the bad switches apart and there is indeed corrosion of some sort on the contact surface. I may try to clean them up and test them out for $hits and grins.
